A Sweet and Sincere Bond
There are mother-daughter relationships that reassure and provide structure. And then there are those that uplift, liberate, and inspire one to live life to the fullest. Frédérique and Ambre's relationship clearly belongs to this second category.
"What I truly succeeded in was giving her wings rather than roots," Frédérique states.
A powerful, almost manifest statement that encapsulates a way of loving: allowing the other to be profoundly free.
Growing Up Without Attachments… But Never Without Love
Ambre was born in Roanne, but very quickly, her life took an unusual turn. Her parents lived in Mali, where she spent the first two years of her life.
"She doesn't remember it, but she had the most beautiful first years a little girl could have," her mother smiles.
And that was just the beginning. Madagascar, Senegal, then Indonesia, where she grew up for the most part, in Jakarta. A childhood full of movement, discoveries, and multiple cultures. No fixed roots, but an entire world as a playground.
When she returned to France for her studies in Roubaix, the contrast was striking. But Ambre adapted. She learned very early on to move, observe, feel… and above all, not to be afraid of change. Today, she lives in Paris. The bond with her mother has never weakened.

An Ultra-Connected and Assumed Relationship
Even at a distance, Frédérique and Ambre are inseparable. They see each other at least one week a month… but most importantly, they call each other every day. Sometimes multiple times.
A message, a call, an idea to share, an emotion that passes—their bond is lively, spontaneous, almost instinctive. There is something very modern about them: a relationship without rigid hierarchy, where everything can be said, everything can be shared. A rare form of intimacy, where the other remains a safe space.
Trust as the Foundation of Everything
It's no coincidence that their relationship is so strong. It's based on a simple but powerful principle: trust.
"We always told our children: you do what you want, but you tell us."
No overwhelming prohibitions, no excessive control. Just a clear rule: no lying. And paradoxically, this framed freedom makes one want to do well.
“It doesn't make you want to do silly things,” Ambre explains. Because when you can say anything, you no longer need to hide.
It's an education that breathes, that leaves space, much like a modern relationship where everyone remains themselves while being deeply connected to the other.
Resembling Without Copying
Ambre is often told that she is like her mother. Not necessarily physically, but in her attitude, in her way of speaking, in this way of inhabiting the world with sensitivity.
Both are creative, intuitive, a little dreamy. Ambre admits:
"From my father, I have the structured side. But from my mother, I have the dreaminess, the sensitivity, the love of small things."
A subtle, almost invisible transmission. Not strict rules, but an energy, a way of experiencing life.

Deeply Proud
When Frédérique talks about her daughter, her voice fills with emotion.
"I find her beautiful. I'm proud of her on every level."
But what touches her most is not just what Ambre does, it's who she is.
"She's a beautiful person. In every sense of the word."
And perhaps that's the true success of a parent-child relationship today: not creating someone in your own image, but accompanying someone to become fully themselves.
Truly Giving Wings
Not giving "roots" in the traditional sense might seem risky. But Frédérique fully embraces it. Instead, she offered something else: freedom, curiosity, self-confidence. Wings. And these wings allow Ambre to build her life in her own way, to love, to create, to dare.
In a fast-paced world where benchmarks are constantly changing, their relationship is proof that love doesn't need to be rigid to be strong. It can be fluid, open, alive.
And sometimes, that's how it's strongest.
